How to adjust rear view mirror to avoid blind spots

For the past few years, automakers have been offering various detection systems blind spot of the side mirrors of their cars. Often complex, these systems use rear view cameras and reverse sensors to explore the tracks adjacent to the vehicles may have disappeared from view.

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in 1995 published an article suggesting how external mirrors could be adjusted to eliminate blind spots. The document calls for adjusting the mirror outward until the time the viewing angle side mirrors only matches the rear view mirror of the car. This can be confusing for drivers accustomed to seeing the sides of his vehicle on the side mirrors. But when the right position, the mirrors deny the car's blind spots. This obviates the need to look over your shoulder to change lanes safely and the need for a costly system of blind spot warning.

The only problem is getting used to SAE recommended mirror positions. rearview mirror of the car is used to keep an eye on what comes from behind, while the exterior mirrors reflect the area outside the view of the rearview mirror.

Those who have opted for the approach of the SAE trust him, however, some drivers can not adjust to not use the door mirrors to see directly behind the car and lose his own car to see the side mirrors. To them we say, "Have fun filling out accident reports."
