  1. I've always used Snap On's Solus and Verus until I started working MaxiDAS DS708 Scanner at my new shop where a tech has this scan tool. I constantly had to reset Snap On's scan tools, call their help line, or the PID data needed for a diag wasn't available. Heck, even some pretty common functional tests weren't available or would freeze halfway through the test, evap system tests come to mind a lot along with setting cam sensors.

This Autel scan tool blows the Snap On and other big name stuff out of the water and it's a fraction of the price. I got to the point that when I needed a scan tool for a diag I would ask to borrow this Autel from the other tech rather than reaching for the shops Snap On Verus or my Matco one. The touch screen, including the stylus, is clearly visible and not too sensitive where you'll be constantly hitting the wrong button. The tool is generally pretty fast at loading codes and PID data although imports do seem to take a little longer. Troubleshooting features on this tool impressed me as I've done everything from clocking blend doors, fvdi 2015 setting CMP's, evap system tests, programming keys, and I've heard of programming clusters though haven't seen it done first hand. All in all I would recommend this tool in a heart beat to any tech looking for a scan tool with trouble shooting capabilities. I was guilty tm100 programmer of assuming this was just another one of those cheap, plastic, China made junk tools that looked like it had the interface of a Nintendo from the 90's. However, I couldn't have been further from the truth as you will most definitely get your money's worth.
