iPad Camera Connection Kit is Not Just for Cameras

Apple is widely accused omitting a USB port and SD slot on the iPad. But 3900 iPad camera connection kit add these input data into specific purpose of photographs, iPad from camera. However, we found the camera connection kit can do a bit more than that.

Apple to your 30 dollars give you two connectors. A conversion of iPad dock connector to a USB port, another makes it an SD slot. We tested two connectors and many different devices. This is our findings.


1 - Keyboard
Although bluetooth keyboard and apple iPad support sales 89 dollar docked at a full keyboard, we figure, most people will have a spare ipad keyborar case in around.

We connect an older apple USB keyboard. When we first plugging it in, it, an error message appear tell us: the keyboard attracted too much power. However, we didn't let the stop us. We are excited page, so that they can type without any difficulty.

Then, we try to Microsoft keyboard. This gives us a "device doesn't support" error messages, but it worked.

It looks like, although the error messages can use the USB connector to run a keyboard.

2 - Mouse
Operating system is same as the iPad without pointer without support mouse. We try to USB and bluetooth mice without success.

3 - USB memory sticks
Sadly, the memory stick is not supported. We try something different disorders and iPad refused to admit any. This is a real shame it severely limits the iPad practicality. We checked whether it will appear in GoodReader USB interface and other procedures and they're just not supported.
