Remember that California's Cool Cars regulation? To come into effect in 2012, the rule requires the manufacturer to install Windows, to prevent vehicles from entering the 2014 45% of solar energy, 60%, to 2016. This is the law, no one would think that is cool. In Golden State's growing environmental regulations of the small victories (and our life there is love, but still ...), the soft-top Jeep Wrangler is said to be exempted.
In particular, any flexible plastic window exemption. California Air Resources Board's representative said that, if it is hard plastic window, "they must follow the same standard windows, from the 2012 model." If there is no flexibility in the window exemptions, Chrysler will not be allowed to California sales and soft-top Wrangler, because it's plastic windows would not be up to standard. Chrysler's global electric vehicle, (GEM) is also under threat, but now from a regulatory and safety.
As for other questions - radio wave interference, reduce global positioning system and other Signals - California Air Resources Board, said, and did not find any in their testing and so on. But who knows, the current Jeep to get a pass that could allow manufacturers to sell in California, every car and flexible Windows ... how cool would that be?
